Check-in time for students in the second showcase is at 1:10pm with the performance starting as close to 1:30pm as possible.
Please check the attached performers rosters below for your name to see which showcase you will be in and order of performance you will be playing. If this is your first time participating in our showcase, the outline below will help you get ready.
The Format
1. Students who have studied between 2 months and 1 year will play a short 1-2 minute piece with their instructor. Students having studied 2 or more years can perform a 2-3minute piece with their instructor (a solo or duet).
2. Young/first time performers will be accompanied on stage by their instructor or a designated accompanist. Students with more lesson and/or performance experience may play solo, duet, with an accompanist or to an mp3 backing track that you provide your teacher so that they can edit it for length and content. Make sure you have your name on the thumb drive AND the name of your song in a folder labeled “Spring Showcase 2023” so that the Kenworthy sound tech can find and queue your song quickly and easily.
3. Voice students are encouraged to sing using a microphone unless their voice is able to comfortably project without one (be sure to discuss this with your instructor so that they can coach you on how to sing with a microphone). If you will be singing along with a backing track, make sure you have your name on the thumb drive AND the name of your song in a folder labeled “Spring Showcase 2023” so that the Kenworthy sound tech can find and queue your song quickly and easily. flash drive in a folder labeled “Showcase 2018” so that our sound tech can find and queue your song quickly and easily.
4. Students must have a copy of their sheet music (or the book with their song) at the showcase.
5. Students must bring their own instrument and any needed accessories for their performance. The academy will have a drum set, piano, chairs and music stands set up.
Be sure to work on/play your showcase piece a little each day to keep it polished. Wondering what to wear for your performance? Dress to impress!
Participation in our recitals are optional but highly recommended. We do not charge any admission or participation fees for our recitals. Our goal is to keep this a fun, positive experience for the students, parents for our 6th year running :).
We’re looking forward to hearing and seeing you play soon!
